Alessi celebrates the 25th anniversary of the iconic juicy Salif Citrus Press by designer Philippe Starck.

The Juicy Salif lemon squeezer is one of the most iconic design objects of the 20th century, more than any other, for the Italian housewares manufacturer Alessi. The squeezer is "a work of art and a 'total convertible piece', which the buyer can consider, at his will, as an abstract sculpture," writes the Italian writer Umberto Eco. The press has a futuristic look resembling both a rocket and the delicate allure of a filigree spider - the actual function takes second place.
